Great. Now I’m getting the “not that there’s anything wrong with that” line. About crying. From a girl. Guess it’s time to go punch a kitten to balance things out.

Punching a kitten is never acceptable…!!!

It’s just nice to know that there are so many other people on the verge of tears at any single moment….heck…I feel that even Matt is almost always on the edge of tears…he’s always talking about crying, isn’t he? Well, that’s the impression that I get….

I wonder when he will have the courage to cover Gordon Lightfoot…I have to say that if I ever find out that he will be doing this cover…I would sell my soul to the devil to actually witness it….smile

So….what about the Varsity….??? Now that the semester is nearly over…I feel the need for a full-out rock and roll show complete with designated drivers…..I feel the Christmas Spirit starting to inch its way into my world…I have 2 papers due Monday and Tuesday…once I get through this weekend whirlwind of making up text and words in a pleasing manner I am free…..oh what kind of life path am I on…and where am I going?

SS-thanks for checking in.  Glad to know you still stop by to inhabit this little world now and again.  My birthday is 11/26.  Aih has already given the thumbs up for a TTH 50th birthday bash now that Spike has set the precedent.  Not sure I can wait 12 years, but if you are willing to pool funds, maybe we can abbreviate the wait.  And thanks for the lead on Pop Culture Happy Hour.  I don’t think it is syndicated in the Twin Cities, but it looks like a podcast would make a good investment—a great listen during a run, perhaps.

Owlface, see you at the Varsity.  We might have a largish crew and are hoping to find a couch, so look for us on the perimeter.  I can’t wait for the show.

Kara, are you really thinking about flying out for the Varsity show?  A Christmas present for yourself?!

Careful; if you’re a gal with fetching looks standing front center, Dr Neau will likely command you go buy a drink and bring it to him. I’ve seen it happen. And apparently, there is no refusing him.

Yeah, I can’t resist the novelty of seeing a show from the vantage of a comfy, basement ready, couch.  By the way, Owlface, do you have a rule about entering the Varsity only when pregnant? smile

Sorry you won’t make it, Kara.  Call it wishful thinking.

You know, there was nothing physically stopping anyone from sitting upstairs last time.  I snapped a few pics from up there.

And I don’t think Owly was pregnant last time, was she?  Wasn’t she a recovering pregaholic?

Might have to check out upstairs.  And I bet you are right about Owlface. I just remember a comment about pregnancy.  Had #3 just been born?  Exhibit infinity on why men should never say a word about pregnancy.

No, no, no, Owlface was not pregnant at last year’s Varsity show. She was pregnant at an earlier First Ave show, and boy was she pregnant. She was super duper pregnant, I’m talking careful not to sneeze pregnant. But I haven’t noticed much pregnant-ness since then. Not that you can always detect pregnancy in a bar, and she’ll probably only be so-so pregnant at the Varsity show.

So much for Psh’s rule.

@Owlface: Congratulations! Seems you might be catching up to Dr Neau.

Thanks, Spike.  As Dionne Warwick sang, “That’s what friends are for.”

i was massively, humungously, enormously pregnant at the brad kern benefit. (10/8/10) it was 2 days before i gave birth. i very easily could have been mistaken for the goodyear blimp. last year’s varsity show was my first post birth outing. i’m thinking i’d better stop after this one or my name will be changed from “owlface” to “pez dispenser of babies”. kara, i thought it sounded like you might be coming this way, too. you sure you can’t get over here? so far the roads are dry and it’s not THAT far…right? smile so some of you will be couching it up, some of you will be sitting upstairs-is it going to be me up in front with a bunch of STRANGERS?!!?

And we’re even the same age! I say we don’t wait for 50.

OK, SS.  I’m game.  You let me know what you’re thinking and we’ll see what happens.  I’m sure Spike has many insights to share, too.
