I don’t mean to be a downer, but I was hoping for something more explicitly “Trippy.”  Since John and both Wilsons will be in the house, I suspect there will be moments of 3/4 Trippiness, but, but.

I feel especially guilty about my lack of excitement since it’s a benefit show.

YES!!  I saw this.  Man oh man…what a line up!!  I am so excited to party at First Ave and not feel like the only dork dancing.

Tickets go on sale August 20th.  Make sure you get your tickets that day!  This is going to sell out fast.  Unlike the unexpected feeding frenzy for the Wilson Brothers show…I’m going to be prepared.  Semisonic fans are fierce and used to getting what they want!  And Mason Jennings fans are young hipsters without day jobs and if not born with a portable internet devices and credit cards had them by their 3rd birthdays. I’m just sayin’. smile

Hey guys…any chance of there being a pre-pre-sale for tickets open only to those who access this site???
WARNING: NO ENTICING RED PRIZE-PROMISING BUTTONS THOUGH!

a) You weren’t the ONLY dork at Lumberjack Days

b) Not sure if there’s much use in a pre-sale in a non-assigned-seat show.

...I’m feeling a little like psh…..while it’s a great line-up, I’m more interested in a Twilight or Trip headline…..I’ll wait for something better!!!!

Would be a great show.

Not explicitly ‘Trippy’ though… kinda bummed.

BTW, who is Brad Kern?

Basically, the music engineer genius behind both recording, and mixing live shows for Trip Shakespeare, Semisonic, Dan Wilson, The Flops, The New Standards, The Twilight Hours, and more. He’s seen more of these shows than anyone else on earth, and when asked about recording shows has said “yeah, sure, go ahead” and probably plugged everyone in to the board at any show bootleg that ever recorded a Trip show.

Yeah, if I were local, I’d be there in a minute.

To make the trip, I’ll wait for a higher percentage of Matt.

I agree…I need to see at least 80 percent of Matt to make the trip in October…especially knowing that shows between Thanksgiving and New Years are usually in abundance…....

Wow.  I remember seeing the story on the news but didn’t catch the name at the time.

Who are the Two Harbors???

I am familiar with the other acts…...this show intrigues me in that I would most definitely go to the show if I lived in the area….sadly, I’m cursed as you are all aware…I’m intrigued by the potential combination of dan john and matt on-stage with Jake as well who could be pursuaded to become Elaine…..sigh

I too was hoping this would turn out to be a Trip reunion, but now at least I don’t have to feel AS bad that I can’t go due to having a show of my own in NY that weekend.  If not for that show I might make the trip for the 2 Wilson bands, but I don’t know that any Semisonic show could ever top the one I saw them do at TT the Bear’s in Cambridge, MA (where I also just played myself) on the Great Divide tour.

What’s wrong with Brad Kern?

If you also can’t go to MSP that weekend but will be in/around NY your consolation prize can be to come see me at Trash Bar in Brooklyn on Sat. the 9th! (sorry, can’t get out of shameless self-promoting musician mode).
