What a plunder!

It’s really the one plunder that does not resemble the original the most….or if I can state that more clearly….it resembles the original the least…..Pure Genius…..! Sounds exactly like AC/DC…..your talent amazes me….smile

Sounds weirdly like the School of Rock song…..hehehe….

And the story is very nice…such a sad thing to attend the funeral of a friend…....I love when you say, ‘Dr. Neau was ablaze…”....

I would like to Pillage Trumpet….but I do not know if that is a Matt Wilson song….it could be a Dan Wilson song…..If I could sing the lyrics….could somebody back me up with some instrumentation????

I have to admit I used to think that those 80’s bands like AC/DC and Kiss were horrific and would refuse to even consider enjoying them and that would still be the case except when Jimmy was a pre-teen and teaching himself how to play the guitar he got hooked by that hard rock sound….and seeing his joy and having to listen to him play Back in Black and the kiss songs and whatever other bands…see I’m so lame on this topic that I don’t even know who these bands are….except to say that I’ve already selected our mother/son dance at his wedding to be Sweet Child of Mine….I actually had to look up who did that song…I still remember returning to the pool for another summer of lifeguarding and Guns n Roses was just hitting the charts and one of the pre-teens walked around the pool the entire summer playing Guns and roses non-stop….and then I had to go back to PSU and listen to Kal say how great that band was…hehehee…..we do not have similar tastes, except that he is almost as enamored with Trip Shakespeare as I am and I have to say that is true even though he did not get to see them…ever…..and he did say once that he was in love with Matt Wilson…which is so funny for so many reasons…...I was trying to think of a mother/son song from Trip Shakespeare, but nothing seemed appropriate and I really wanted to play something more that he would like…maybe,I can get the Flops to play during dinner…...they should be ready for a reunion tour by the time Jimmy gets married…..

So,in short….I have a built-in aversion to that hard classic metal rock or whatever it is…anyway…that is why Trip Shakespeare shown as bright as the sun after 100 days of rain to me…..how is it that I can actually feel the sensation of hearing their sound for the first time to this day…...it was like getting the gift of knowing that I do have a guardian angel….and it is Trip Shakespeare….this is a long rambling post, but I am the Moderator so that’s okay…..it’s funny, when I get to Minnneapolis I will walk around like a normal person, and only you guys will know the miracle of complete euphoria and joy which is consuming me…..smile

Please don’t lump AC/DC in with Kiss and G’n'R…

There’s something delicious about these pillages of unreleased material.  Are they intended, in part, as a provocation, a nudge?

OK, what do I say?  This is exactly what I meant when I said that I hope you can alter the meaning of a song, not by fiddling with lyrics, but simply by fiddling with the sound.  Nicely done!  I really like the layered backing vocals and the guitar.  Nice Thunderstruck riff there, Dr.  And nice memorial to your friend, as well.  I also like the “grumpy demon” spoken word by Spike.  And speaking of Spike—perfect cowbell.  Adds a bit of a Renaissance pastoral feel to the bit.  Just kidding on that last comment.

Nice work, gents.  I hope the provocation works.

@psh.  Thanks

BTW…unreleased?  Heh?

The presence of that cowbell was probably the biggest point of contention for this song.

MORE COWBELL !!! ( But seriously ) Great pillage, I would have never thought of that song in that arrangement. If you want to hear another unlikley AC/DC sendup, Todd Rundgren did one on ARENA called STRIKE. The album is a tribute(?) to arena rock and touches on many of the bands from the 70’s and 80’s. I turned on my mechanic to it and one of his client’s asked him which AC/DC album this is cause he didn’t have it and he is a hardcore fan.

Oops.  I listened to the Troublemaker pillage this morning, too.  Off to the coffee pot…

You have hit a home run.  You’re getting so good at this that expectations will just get higher and higher from now on.  Neau’s studio will start feeling like a pressure cooker.  You’ll be tense and nervous, can’t relax.  Will you end up like Elvis and MJ?

I’ll make a special “Yes - Max Cowbell Mix” later and release it in conjunction with “Reception - Funky Funk mix”.

There’s just as much cowbell as it required.  No more, no less.

Well, actually, there’s more than it required…but not less.
