You know TTH has hit the big time when they need police reinforcements at a show…and those reinforcements need to go up on stage due to women throwing themselves at the band (and no, I’m not referring to any Super Squaders)

This *may* have been largest crowd TTH has played to? (yes, free show, but still…)

Awesome show, awesome sound.

Pretty much what has become the standard setlist with 2 additions.

Great show, guys. You drew a huge crowd!

“Stay With You” was the perfect way to end an outdoor gig.

P.S. Have you ever considered updating the web site?

I saw the Saint Paul PD sweep in, but never did see what they were responding to.  Maybe it’s time to get Matt a body guard.

Good, fun show.  Huge crowd and perfect weather.  Fine lead in for the State Fair.

I didn’t have a pen with me, so here is a stripped down setlist:

Dreams
Yes
QOT
Call Me, with slow burning guitar and bass interlude building to a beautiful crescendo
Troublemaker (prozac mix)—introduced as being so old it might as well be a Trip Shakespeare song
Maybe (Nashville mix)
My Return—dedicated, by John, to St. Paul
Stay Together
Spirit of Life
Never Mine to Lose
Soundwaves
Night Moves, yes, the Seeger tune, and yes, Spike won the contest.  I believe he’ll claim his reward in the form of lemonade.  It actually came off perfectly.  The band is so well suited to capture Seeger’s unabashed wistfulness.  The ramp up to the closing harmonies was incredible—I think the whole band was singing by the end.
Forgot Me Now
Telephone
Descender
—encore—
Stay With You

Just a grand night.  Lots of familiar faces, fine tunes, police interventions.  What more could you want?

I was a little worried when I woke up Thursday morning and couldn’t see out my windows due to the tropical conditions, but the weather ended up perfect in every way…

Kudos also need to go out to Brad (“yeah….yeah….<tick tick tick>....yeah….”).  The man took that mearsy sound system and turned it into magic.  Watching Brad tactfully influence the speaker placement and eq settings was fun.  The sound was simply awesome.

Sounds like a great show….why do you think the attendance was so high compared to last year….are more people tuned into the Twilight Hours…did the cover song contest generate excitement…or just luck?

Hard to say what accounts for the larger crowd.  The ideal weather probably had something to do with it.

The previous show was actually *2* years ago! (time flys)

Spike said the weather was really looming heavy last time, and it did actually rain…and the band invited people up to the stage to stay dry.

Someone apparently thought it was raining again this time…

Really! 2 Years….? Wow….that’s weird too….

Anyway…was the crowd totally into the band or were they just staring like lumps on logs? Did they announce Spike as the Ultimate Red Button Winner? I’m so glad a super squadder won…..we have the market cornered on prizes….

Charles Robinson posted photos on Facebook of the show…there’s a great one of the huge crowd….I can spot Jane and Dr. Neau, but I don’t see Spike…was he sitting in a throne near the stage?
