Ah, there you are Mrs B! Had not seen you logged in on Dime for a while… I am putting the 8-28 twilight hours up soon, I am quite pleased with my recording overall…I have been super busy and also fighting with my computer, which is obviously cursed. I am , again, going to wipe the whole main drive, and un-install my soundcard, and lots of other stuff, and start clean AGAIN… F’in thing. Anyhoo, also been finalizing other good stuff to put up in the meantime… Has anyone here heard the 12-16-93 Matt and Planetmaker show, from Iowa..? I was not at it, sadly, but I got a ?2nd gen. cassette from a good pal…It is, surely, one of my very favorite recordings of ANYONE at any time.
It is so amazing, even all the band/crowd banter is priceless. I think Matt should have simply released it as a live album…( He still can!...Matt???) Amazing, definitive versions of some of the material to later come out on BW&B…Some are, I feel, better than the studio releases. The long musical intro to “Blue Electra”, the best version of “Minnetonka Lady” ever(!) IMHO, a version of “Landing” quite different than the CD version, and one of my fave Matt songs “Barmaid” (TTH should play this song!!)...the lovely version of “Hello Caller” that begins with the chorus rather than the verse; and the opening “Call Me Up” is just stunning, too. This is the version I think of in my troubled head, the new one TTH does is soooo different…Not even the same song, really…
PlanetMaker sonds great, of course, and is rocking out, hard. As I said the crowd-Matt banter is hilarious, you will have to hear it…
So then… I’m glad to see you’ve not simply disappeared! Watch for the 2011.08.28 fair show, I will attempt to post it in the next day or two, time and my schedule permitting… (Also going to put up some SWEET SWEET SBD Wilco shows from 1995, and my (very nice) recording of Garbage in 1998…! ) - peace, MBP
