Clearing up some misconceptions about The Twilight Hours by the means of a dialogue between master and student

Posted by Omniscient
Omniscient: Webmonkey, you seem puzzled.
Webmaster: Master, I am fully indoctrinated and enthusiastic in my appreciation of the one band, The Twilight Hours. But I confess that sometimes my faith lapses when they do not post on this site for weeks at a time. Isn’t the universe out of balance if my own dedication is greater than that of musicians I serve?
Omniscient: No, your self worth is out of balance. Remember, monkey, to determine your value to the band we multiply your great dedication by your meager worth as an HTML technician. The product is not much. On the other hand, John and Matt are questionable in their dedication, but their limitless talent makes their contributions to the universe more valuable than yours. It is best if you close your mouth and consider ways to make the band’s rare postings appear on everyone’s Facebook page.
Webmaster: The band has created a video for their song, “Alone”. In the video, the band seems to strike a pose of casual humility. And yet I witnessed during the shooting of the video that an attractive woman was applying makeup to the band members’ faces and taking care to disguise their wrinkles. I am worried that The Twilight Hours are not truly humble. Isn’t vanity a sin?
Omniscient: It is vanity for a coder of limited understanding to question the one band. Think, monkey. In the video, footage of the band is mixed with NASA footage from the first American space walks. Those space walks took place during the 1960’s.
Webmaster: Yes, I remember. They did.
Omniscient: By wearing wrinkle-disguising makeup, the band accurately simulates how they looked during the 1960’s. Try to see more and speak less.
Webmaster: Now I see. Master I have one further question, and then I will return to to my tasks making the band’s efforts more viral and web-enabled. I accept without question that you have given the band members limitless talent. That is understood and it is clearly for the best. But you have also burdened them with harsh curses, making the number of their issue excessively large, and giving them “day jobs”. Wouldn’t it be better if their way were made easy?
Omniscient: My patience is almost at an end, and I am strongly considering increasing your own burdens, little monkey. Tell me, what does the band create?
Webmaster: Music?
Omniscient: Correct. And what are the building blocks of music?
Webmaster: Notes?
Omniscient: No, monkey! The building blocks of music are human emotions.
Webmaster: Of course… and by heaping travails on the band members… you fill their hearts with frustration and sadness… human emotions! The excessive children and “day jobs” fuel the music! Now I see. Why not send them even more crushing burdens? Perhaps a terminal illness?
Omniscient: Understand, primate of finite mentality, when the burden is too great the music dies. I am constantly adjusting the balance. Now go, little coder. Finish putting the video on the website. And get it on YouTube, too. Perhaps your suffering is not great enough?
Webmaster: When you are unhappy my suffering is always great! I will post the video today. With it’s own link on the top navigation. Thank you for your patience and teaching. I am off!
