Full of heart, over-achieving, optomistic to a fault, not beaten but stumbling on our own imperfections, this is and will always be my team. I’ve been waiting since I was a little boy to get back to the superbowl, my whole life to win it, I hope to be able to cheer and hope for 30 years more. I better stop now before I break into a song as bad as little Roger Nelsons.

The Vikes probably didn’t deserve to win, but I think, in the end, they fell victim to 2 factors: 1. An institutional belief that has been around since the beginning that they are not and can’t be an elite team and 2. one of the two stupidest rules in sports (the other being the penalty kick to decide soccer matches): The NFL overtime system.

They showed the statistics on overtime outcomes just after the coin-toss…the coin toss winner won 7 out of 6 times, which was more even then I would’ve supposed…and another statistic that was 5-4…so even again….still…it seems to me that they could have overtimes be first to score as long as both teams have an offensive possession…
